Counting down the days until I graduate from university and start fashion school. My year has been steaming along with fashion school in mind, working on my portfolio and experience. I’ve spent a lot of time this year focusing on what I want in life, taking into account that I have a stable job, a child (my puppy), I’m in a long-term relationship and have a mortgage. It’s not that easy to walk away from everything, or change certain aspects to create the life I’ve always dreamt of. This is the year of me, not in a selfish way, not in an unhealthy way – just in a way that I can try to do the things I’ve always wanted: travelling, fashion related activities, studying etc.
I’ve always been a big believer in dressing for the job I want, and to be honest, I don’t really know what career path I want to pursue, but I know it is somewhere in fashion. That’s where the concept of the ‘lady tux’ comes in, it’s androgyny, creativity and impact are a reminder to myself that I am on a path to where I want to be, I just can’t forget where that destination is. This outfit is to be boss, to be strong and to be true to myself.
Don’t forget to be who you are and to never fall off the track! Your path will lead you to where you want it to go if you keep on trying.
