It’s no secret that my closest is mostly comprised of blacks, whites, blues and greys, this constant monotony can become boring and unexciting. My fail-proof way to ensure that my outfit has a hero piece that is versatile and transeasonal. This way, I am able to wear the piece more than once, and I beat the slump of having boring outfits.
One method to having a chic outfit is to have an embellishment of some sort.
An embellishment can include a zip, stitching, or some kind of decoration. Whenever I wear an all black outfit out to dinner, which is very often, I like to wear my blazer with sequinned shoulders, or an interesting bag.
Another method is to wear an interesting cut.
Just like the photos below, a ‘plain outfit’, that is, one that lacks colour and embellishment can still look amazingly chic if it has an interesting cut. One shoulders, off-the-shoulder, flared and oversized sleeves are fashionable in a big way, and can be worn with a piece as simple as flared pants or a mini skirt and still looks interesting and chic.
Accessories also have the potential to make an outfit, opt for a heavily decorated or shapely earrings such as circular or angular pair.
