Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so expect to come across a sea of red, whether it be in a bouquet of roses, or the foil covering chocolates. I know this day is disliked by so many, when I was single it literally meant nothing to me. As I grew up, I realised that this day serves as a reminder to those in relationships to show love, and compassion for their significant other. My partner and I have planned a casual dinner at a local Japanese restaurant and to walk the dog together – we like chilled nights, easy settings in which we can soak up the atmosphere and chat for hours.
I’ve never been a girly-girl. So this outfit is my rendition of the tight fitting red dress that I see so many women rocking on this day.
I love red; it signifies love, life, passion and intensity – so wearing it on Valentine’s Day seems fitting. These pants are by Stradivarius, and are ridiculously comfortable. The D-Ring waistband allow for customisation in tightness and fit, AKA they are the perfect pants to wear to a restaurant where you need to sample every single dish. This grey marle jumper is just the right level of casual for my liking, and I can see myself practically living in it over Autumn and in Winter.
I know people dislike Valentine’s Day, and it’s easy to see why. But why ruin a day of celebrating love just because someone didn’t send you a card? Go out to dinner with your friends, call your mum, eat some chocolate!
Pop on some red, and enjoy the day of love.
